Emperor Uriel Septim's three sons have been assassinated by the Deadra-worshoping cult The Mythic Dawn, and he fears his time may be soon. The only thing standing between Oblivion's forces invading Tamriel is the Emporer's life, which sustains the Dragonfires, a mystical barrier that protects Tamriel from the dangers of Oblivion.
