Chapter One

After her parents died, Emmy was left to strive for herself. She went from shelter to shelter and when she could scrounge up the money, she would take bus rides to different parts of town. Emmy learned to live on her own and is very reserved. She kept to herself. No ever acknowledged her and she liked it that way until she found herself sleeping on Travis' front porch for shelter from the rain and snow. Travis found her there, and took her into his home.
