1: Rewind

Mixed are the emotions,
Scattered are the notions,
Jumbled are the thoughts,
Of feelings suppressed, feelings I forgot.

Stood by and watched the scene unfold,
"The way of reality," Society had told.
To change my clothes and cut my hair,
Was how they said to avoid their stares.

I played the part,
Disobeyed my heart.
Living happily an insidious lie,
Leaving what's left of my humanity to die.

Little by little the dam piled up,
Guilt and shame overflowed my cup.
Goodness escaped, for she had lost her meaning,
Angered at the world, I was silently screaming.

So I broke apart,
Anew I'd start.
Now here we are at the end of my strife,
Where I'll take you on a journey......a journey through my life.
