One thing that the Kingdom of Spades had perfected was power. Domination. The absolute control of their battle-filled motherland. So, when pressed against an outbreak of terrific violence that would destroy the might of their empire - King Alfred of Spades departed to crush the rebellion of those in the Federation of Clubs.

Meanwhile, his Queen, Arthur, was sent to the Kingdom of Diamonds in order to recruit the once neutral King Francis: only to find out that the only payment that would suffice would be the hand of the Queen of The Spades - in holy matrimony.
