Rivera Malraux's mother is dead. She feels lost without her. The girls at her school torture her to no end. She can't remember the last time she was truly happy.

She fails to see her perfections and the beauty she holds on the inside and out.

Things do change though when charming and cutie Alec Montgomery moves in next door and to her high school. He takes a sudden interest in her much to everyone's surprise.
