[in writing poetry over the past few years I have grown so much as a person. in reading some of these poems, lyrics, letters, and thoughts I have collected and written throughout my high school and college experience- I can assure you many of these what I call poems- are written out of a need to refocus and recollect my thoughts and feelings when talking with another person seems too much to bear. this book means a great deal to me as it has enabled me to improve my approach to written expression; you will notice seasons of improvement as a poet, and seasons when I could barely find any motivation for any creative output at all.
