Description
Audrey Stone was a normal girl. She lived in a normal house with normal parents and went to a normal school with normal people. That is, until she moved, and along came Jack Beaux. Jack was the typical bad boy, except for one thing: he never spoke a word to anyone. He never made a sound. Not in any public places. There were rumors about him. Maybe he was mute, deaf or even both. With so many possibilities, you could imagine her shock when he found her, naked and trapped in a lake, and spoke comforting words to her. ° ° ° ° ° "Jack, you don't have to do this. I can get home on my own." "Oh, yeah, and how do expect to do that? You can't walk all the way home. Especially not like that." He says, gesturing to my "present state of body" as he refers to it. "Just let me do this." I stay quiet, hoping that he will say something else to change the subject. When he doesn't, I say, "Ok." And the cars goes quiet. He starts up the engine, and heads toward my house. "Now, how do I get to your house?"
