All through history nations have tried and failed to make the perfect weapon, from ancient empires to modern America. However, evolution beats them to it and Psychics are born. The same people that were revered as god’s chosen in ancient times or burned at the stake under the accusations of witchcraft face persecution for their power today. Hatred, spurred on by fear and lies, leads to Psychics across the globe being hunted down and taken away where they are treated as nothing more than lab rats, test subjects for the ultimate goal; the perfect super soldier. Of the hundreds that are captured during the Hunts most die from the experiments. Those that escape capture remain in hiding, either too scared to reveal themselves or waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Madeline has been blind since the day she was captured all those years ago. Growing up cut off from the rest of the world she knows nothing of planes, cars, schools, work, happiness, or freedom. Her life revolves around drugs, experiments, fear, and darkness. Maddy is a Farseer and at almost seventeen years of age she is one of the oldest Farseers alive; all others die before they reach adulthood. When Maddy escapes the red alert is sounded and one thing is clear to the Hunters; “Get the Farseer back at all costs”. Maddy needs help, but in an unknown world where everybody is an enemy, who can she trust?
