Notes:

When she first met him, he was a good friend to goof around with. Then he began to loosen her up. She turned into the girl who sat in the back row in class. For the first time in her life, she was distracted in the classroom.

Then she became enthralled by a whole new breed of a boy that living as a goody two shoes never allowed her to meet. He wasn't truly bad but had just had different life experiences than her.

Something began to develop between the two of them. They would sit a little bit closer and talk a little bit longer. People began to notice what was going on and asked, "What the heck is going on?" They would just give good nature shrugs and say, "What? We are just good friends." It was what they both thought the other wanted. No one ever believed them. They would walk off shaking their heads and laughing, "You , guys, keep telling yourselves that."

End of the senior year came very fast, he couldn't understand why she was going off to school. They had a perfectly good school in town. He would tease her about having a boyfriend away at school.

She goes off to school and every so often something would happen to remind her of him.

Years past and they both go through their own challenges and losses. They never see each other again. They begin to even think of each other less and less.

Then she comes across a old yearbook and a simple inscription. It begins to awaken the girl again. She had changed a lot in the six years since she last left him. She locked herself away in a prison of her own making. It made her want to craft her own key to release her from her cell. She wanted to live again for the people she had lost and mostly for herself.

A chance meeting in a farmers market, brings the boy who is now a man, back into her life.
