Computer genius Jack Wren is stuck serving coffee in Seattle after an incident in high school prevents him from pursuing college. When an acquaintance of his father shows up with a job proposition, Jack simply can't refuse the chance to ditch his caffeine soaked career to fight the bad guys and save the girl. But as events spiral out of control, Jack is thrown head first into the vampire world and is forced into the service of Rhys, the youngest member of the revered clan, the Laskava.
