He returns to find the city on the brink of war with Marcel struggling to keep his status as king from the Originals and the witches finally tired of being subjugated began to fight back. David had been gone to learn how to control his magic and learn new types of magic after being kicked out. His only goal is to protect Davina from all who want to either use her or complete the harvest .
