It started when I was young. I could see things that others couldn't see....things, that I wasn't sure were really even there at all. Like glimpses of another place or time; they flickered and shifted - sometimes clear, sometimes blurry. But they always sparkled with unusual light. I called them Shimmers.... When I told my parents about the Shimmers, they were naturally very concerned, and took me to countless psychologists and therapists, who had prescribed numerous different drugs; none of which worked. I eventually told my parents that the visions had stopped, but they hadn't. In fact, they had become more frequent. If I was seeing things, was I crazy? I had begun to think that I was. I thought that I needed to learn how I to ignore the Shimmers, or to learn how to live with them. But, then one day a stranger made me question all of that, when he warned me that someone would be coming for me. His bizarre warning set into motion a series of events which would change my life for ever...
