Chapter One

I've forgotten.
Lost in my mind.
Drowning in my thoughts.
Dancing in a sea of darkness and silence.

I don't recognise these walls or that door or the bed I'm lying in.
Nor the ceiling or the town outside the window.
Nor the girl staring back at me in the mirror across the room.

I feel strange.
Like it hurts to blink or breath or close my eyes because every time I do, I see her.
Her long, straight, brown hair.
Her tan skin and grey eyes.
Her face, staring at me, laughing at me, screaming at me.
