Prologue

16 year old Mackenzie Brookes was left by her parents after her father began beating her mother. They dropped her off at her uncle and aunt's house. Ever since, she hasn't talked to anyone but her aunt. She had vowed after that day to never trust or even talk to a man. That's about to change at her new school. She'll go from being the quiet girl to the most outgoing, loud, "don't mess with me" girl in the school, and all in the matter of a few days. Will she keep her new untamable spirit? Or, will she sacrifice her newfound confidence and attitude for what may be the love of her life, as well as her 1st period math teacher?
