Prologue

Cassie is broken when her sister/best friend dies and leaves her with her baby to raise. She is consumed with the notion that life will never be the same until she met Kate, a no nonsense, tell it like it is, new to the area, judge. Kate is an over-achiever & never allows anything to stand in the way of what she's set out to accomplish including being the youngest judge to take the bench. Will Cassie push Kate away like all the others who have tried to get close? Or will Kate find a way to break down the barriers Cassie has locked around her soul?
