Josh Spohr is in a band called Tear Out the Heart and is a senior in high school. He goes to a basketball game to see his younger brother play. At half-time, a poms girl asks Josh and the band if the poms team can perform to Curse as a last minute change due to something regarding the other song the girls were going to perform to. Tyler and Josh lets the girls do so. That's when Josh falls in love with the girl.
