Prologue

The city of Lamorr was the crown jewel of the Empire. Now, it is anything but shiny. Darkness and shadow have engulfed the streets, while the people, the Damned, are slaves to their oppressive Count's iron law. Thieves and robbers rule the Murk, a place where Garen has lived his entire life, stealing for a living. He has known no other way, until he's plucked from the streets and thrust into a job bigger than anything he's done so far in his dark and rough life, because he'll be working for the Thief Maker, the real count of Lamorr.
