Sequel to The Kingdom of Noitcif. Please read the first book before starting on this one. It's been two years since Engres Whitewood was sent to jail. Two years of joy for Noitcif, two years of turmoil for Ytilaer. But everything changes when Engres escapes from his prison, giving Noitcif both a questionable declaration of loyalty to their kingdom, and horrifying news about what Ytilaer has done while he's been imprisoned. He tells them that Ytilaer is taking over the Base World. These facts before him, the situation becomes crystal-clear to Espen: either figure out how to stop Ytilaer's progress, or have the dimension that he still calls home become subordinate to his foe.
