I remained silent.

He moved back, then studied me before saying anything. "You're..." He looked away, "like me."

"What do you mean 'like you'? I don't have a tail."

"Not yet. The ears and tail come after your first shift, but your's is happening tonight. Strange things have happened to you, haven't they? Your senses are sharper."

I shook my head, "I'm not like you."

"But, you are, look at your arm again," I did. "A human would need stitches."

I repeated once again, "I'm not like you."
