Chapter 1

Adis Dagedottir was poor. She was as poor as poor can be, living off the streets. A sewer rat. Homeless. A beggar. Most thought that a utopia like Asgard would have none of these people, but that was quite the opposite. She, and many like her, despised rich folk. She believed she could make her own way in the worlds. It wasn't easy. And yet, stubborn and hard-headed as she was, even she could not afford to decline when given something by the palace itself; A job. Offered to her by the head maid, she could hardly refuse. This gave her a chance to prove herself, for all her hard work to pay off. She was given clothing, food, shelter, much more than she could have hoped for. But servitude brought along many other things. Pain, nerves, and terror were to be expected. They were nothing more than she had experienced before, on the streets and alleyways. Still, a new feeling finds her, one she had never felt before. Heartbreak. All this and more come to her when she accepts a new position, and goes from helping in the kitchen to a chamber maid. But the man she serves is no ordinary man. No, for her luck is never that good. The man is no other than the Trickster. The Son of Secrets. That man was Prince Loki, the God of Mischief and Lies himself.
