Chapter 1

Bianca Sable is a Nightmare, a creature of immense power, but she is one of the last of her kind. She lives in the have-nots section of the walled city of Bastille, the Lower City, and wants to see if what her father says is true, that the government in the city is planning something big: total destruction of the Lower City. In this story, she gets tangled into a web of politics and rebellion as she strives to save her city with the help of her powers and searches for a mysterious creature that she dares to think could be a friend.
