Prologue

Anwendar, a mage with a mind too busy to focus on the actual casting, and his familiar find themselves on a journey across their world when an old evil rears its head again and the current hero is nowhere to be found.
Along the way, Anwendar must learn how to turn enemies into allies and master his powers. On top of the world itself turning against its denizens, a group of well-connected individuals is actively working to keep Anwendar from finding the Hero. And, of course, there are the glory seekers, groups just like Anwendar's, who'd much prefer their own name attached to saving the world.
