At six years old a child is playing hide-n-go seek, riding his or her bike down the street or just climbing on an old oak tree.
Me, I was calling 911 to get a cop to stop my dad from beating my mom down against the old wooden kitchen counter with his bare hands. Most kids at that age knew that number but only to not accidentally dial it. I knew how to dial 911 before I knew what numbers were. My mother always took him back. I am giving you a head start to stop reading if you hate to cry, laugh, or even learn that you may not be alone with your struggles.
