Mia Evers is aligned with Dark. Her parents try to ignore it. Her peers and teachers are afraid of her.

Toolena Mesa Middle School may be her last chance to fit in, or at least get by. She even manages to make a rare friend or two. That is until students start getting sick like they did three years ago, a sickness blamed on a student aligned with the Dark.

Stuck between the pressure to blend in and being shunned for her alignment, Mia finds herself seeking answers from the ghost of a former student and the demon inhabiting her homeroom. When her one friend falls ill, a bargain with the slippery demon becomes all too tempting.

However, demons always get the better end of the deal...
