The first time I saw him, I knew that I would die at his hands. He was complicated, a dealer of mercy as children saw him as their hero, and a servant of the darkness as he deceived and slaughtered many.

I had walked alone into his open arms, my bones turning to water as I knew I could not look back. To the world he was a hero and his every action justified. He was the Alpha King after all, to take the throne after King Zion, pressured to build an empire.

He was the world's angel and my darkest demon.
