Introduction

In the fall of 2016, I was a guest at the Southern Festival of Books in Nashville, TN. The speech I presented at that time was on my latest novel, A World Without You. The result was a very personal, autobiographical account of how the book came to be, not just in terms of publishing, but in terms of the life I lived that lead to this particular novel being born.
