Violette Martindale is a 14-year-old girl with a hard life. After the deaths of her mother and brother, she has lived alone with her father, who sometimes isn't one of the nicest people in the world to Violette.
At school, her grades aren't the best and she feels ignored (except by her two best friends, Ginger Fedotenko and Autumn Mikkeline), and when she falls in love with Samuel Thrailkill, a semi-popular sophomore that she feels she has no chance with, she feels more depressed than ever.
Violette wants to escape the dramatic turmoil of her life. All she wants is peace of mind, and to be in the arms of Samuel.
