"I kept my eyes on the floor, mentally tracing every grain on the old cherry hardwood flooring. I picked out a spot in the flooring that looked like Mickey's ears, the little dog and the tree. There was once a time when my heart leaped every time I saw the patterns, but now it's just a reminder of who I used to be."

When her past won't let go of her present, a young woman hides herself away in her own internal world. Living day-to-day in her own thoughts she begins to learn that there is more to life than she thought.
