"You can't save a race when it's already broken, kid." Tahain stops and turns to me, cutting me off.

"Then what are we going to do?" I ask, trying to decipher his stance. He opens his mouth, but closes it again, thinking. He turns away from me, looking out at the city around us. His words are the stones he kicks off the edge of the balcony, plummeting down to the streets below.

"We kill them,"

"What?" I can't help but choke out an answer. Tahain turns to me, his face hard.

"We're going to kill all of them."
