Description
The manor stands alone and empty. All but forgotten, it is left to decay, reduced to nothing but the source of urban legends and whispered rumors. By daylight it is silent and still. When midnight tolls spirits waltz in the ballroom, a strange boy plays on the garden wall, a scorned bride searches for her long-lost groom, and a shadowy figure records the day's events in an ancient tome. It is a house of peace and unrest, of longing and joy. It is the midnight house, where the living do not dare step and where the ghosts are haunted most of all. *The Midnight House is a collection of dark fantasy short stories centered around a single setting and group of characters. It is not single novel, but closer to an episodic work. While parts of The Midnight House may flow together and I hope for them all to tell a cohesive story of the manor and its inhabitants, it will not be through a single plot. These stories are not necessarily told in chronological order and can be read in any order, except for those broken up into parts ('parts' here refers purely to short stories beyond 3,000 or so words that I've broken up to allow for easier reading online)*
