Chapter One

Master Phanius Tacachi leaves the Jedi Order over ideological differences after they reject his beliefs on morality. Endeavouring to discover more about the Force, he discovers the Sith, and the power they hold inspires him to go down a dark path.

Meanwhile, his lover, Jedi Knight Ayla Torez, is frustrated at being unable to take revenge against the pirate gang who attacked a defenceless village, being forced to act as a guard for the rich owner of Republic Sienar Systems. However, this duty turns out to be more interesting than she anticipated.
