Every year, the tributes fight in the Hunger Games arenas. Every year, the citizens of Panem and the Capital watch. And every year, the mentors have to watch from the mentors room, famed Victors themselves, and almost entirely unable to bring home another Victor. Nobody's ever said that a Victor's life got easier after the games ended.

He's never told her that he wishes they were more. Theo had expected Ari to be reaped, but now it's him on the train to the Capitol where he will undoubtedly die. He might as well accept it- no-one from District 8 ever wins- but with her still safe back home, he has a reason to keep fighting. Maybe if he wins, he can go home and they can live the life he's always dreamed of. But the life of a victor is not what it seems. Especially not when the people of the Capitol see you as their Prince Charming. I started this before Sunrise on the Reaping and still haven't read it so it's not going to have anything from that book in it even though it's set from the 49th Games onwards. Updates every Tuesday at 12pm GMT. Multi-POV Male OCx Fem OC Pre-hunger games onwards. I do not own the Hunger Games. All rights belong to Suzanne Collins. Also, I don't know if some of the fairytales I used as inspiration are copyright, but if they are, I don't own them either. Typical Hunger Games trigger warnings: violence, child murder, prostitution, teen pregnancy, mild language, rape, sexual assault, innuendo and sexual references. If you think I should change it to mature at any point, please tell me. I wasn't sure.
