In this world, all throughout history, we have learned to hate and it's pretty contagious. It's the biggest sickness of our time. It's okay to not like something or someone, but to spend so much time and energy trying to hate someone or something... it's the cause of our wars. Fear of the unknown, and in that fear, we turn to the easiest emotion: anger. That anger, mixed with that fear. That, and wanting to just contain ourselves in familiarity, USUALLY (not always) tends to breed hate. He had a lot of traits that Ezra desired - a calm head, composure, and a tap of charm that could be turned on whenever the situation called for it. Despite never taking direct action against each other, Rivals were Rivals, and it was natural to hate each other. Ezra especially hated him more for having to battle against his perfect image. For his first year in the country, Ezra didn't really encounter Daiki, the two leading somewhat separate lives. They campaigned against each other from afar.
