After the Trials of Apollo, Hazel is sent on a quest to seek out any additional emperors that New Rome doesn't know about that could stir up trouble. Everything is going well until Frank stops getting updates from the quest and only get worse when the rescue team of Hunters disappear as well. Frank asks Reyna, Nico, and Will for assistance in locating their friends that sends them down a wild ride with two morally grey companions. Mixed with a bit of fun Roman history and trivia, the story is similar to those included in the Demigod Files or Demigod Diaries. Told from the perspectives of Frank, Reyna, and Nico, each chapter has two parts to enjoy! There a notes in each chapter at the end with numbers corresponding in the text to answer translations of words and interesting historical facts, people, places, and events, with it all compiled into one place at the last 'chapter' of the story.

Triumvirate, a group of three that holds power. Be careful what you believe, it might be wrong. Three ordinary girls, living as normal high school graduates would, from partying past midnight, to studying for college. But if you look closer, you would see that these girls are more than normal young adults. No, they have something extraordinary; a lineage that is priceless. A lineage that shouldn't exist on Earth, and yet no one knows they're alive, no one knows they exist. In fact, they're not supposed to exist. The people of Earth declared them a myth a long time ago. Magic, fairies, werewolves, and all other mythical creatures were written off as products of imagination, nothing more, nothing less. So how do you find someone, something, that's not real. The people of Triumvirate, though, had a problem. Ruled by a vicious ruler, who declared herself sovereign after the death of their beloved King and Queen. These three girls are the only hope of ever getting back their freedom, their lives, and their kingdom. Three guardians, of different species were secretly sent to Earth. They were raised from birth and sworn to protect these three girls, even if it costs them their lives. They need to find the destined queens and find a working portal to Triumvirate, while also helping them grow into their powers. The group must face obstacles, obstacles that threaten their chance in reaching Triumvirate. Their chance in reaching there alive at least. Sounds hard, doesn't it, but what happens when the evil Queen is alerted to the existence of the triplets who threaten her throne. Power is a drug, and those who are addicted will do anything to get their fix.

She has visions of a land where dinosaur-like creatures live and searches for the answer to find them and tame them. People have told her that the Sorceress still lives and knows its whereabouts. The Queen, who dies in childbirth, leaves behind her twin girls, Diamond and Gold. They are given orders to leave their safe Kingdom in the High Mountains and go in search for the lost land of the Ancient Beasts. Little do they know...what is waiting out there in the world for them.
