She is forced to go on this trip because it's too much of a risk for her to loose her A+, since this trip is fifty percent of her grade, but someone is in her way... Duncan, total punk, and could care less about anything related to school, but of course he is forced to go in this trip too because if he doesn't have atleast a C or above in all his classes, he will be grounded all summer.
