After many suspicious activities going around sodor. Thomas and his friends soon discover that Diesel 10 is back after supposedly being gone for years. Hes back and even more unhinged then ever , now the fate of the island falls onto Thomas' buffers and his friends.

The British Government greenlights a new research facility near Crovans Gate, the engines are told that its "to find an alternative source to water" the engines have some speculations, but after Emily and Salty are sent down there to help out, a breach happens, an a mysterious virus called "redfever" spreads across the island, now the engines are running for their lives with the fear of monsters at every turn.

A trip to the scrap yard turns out to be a pleasant surprise for Thomas as he finds a scrap engine that was still alive. And not only alive but was one of the last of Thomas' class. A connection was formed immediately.

so this story is inspiration from "Comforting the blue engine" by Iv20001291 • • Edward is an engine that everyone goes to to talk to him about their problems, but this becomes a lot for Edward and all the engines notice a change in his behavior and the way he spoke. Esspecially James. James cared for the blue tender engine more than he did for his shiny red paint work. • • in this story they have both human and engine forms (more towards the end)
