Nere and her friends are back from Atlantea, along with (most of) Kuron's kids. Nere is still torn between Dai and Tobin and fights to control her feelings. The kids try to adjust to life back at Safety Harbor, but just when everything seems ok again, they get an unexpected- and dangerous- surprise from an old "friend." Meanwhile, the Neptune scientists decide that it's time to tell the rest of the world about the Project. How will the rest of the world react? Who is the mysterious friend? Who will Nere choose? ***2nd book of the Neptune Project series*** The story of Zara Hart and the gang continue. After a kidnapping Zara, Nere, and a few others have to travel to Dai's home. Filled with freaky mutant kids, and a psychotic man, the Neptune gang has to survive and find a specially developed zooplankton called c-plankton created by a brilliant marine geneticist, Idaine Kuron. Zara Hart is about to have her life changed. After her aunt injects her with some weird shot that enables her to breathe water and being hunted by the Western Collective and Marine Guards Zara meets up with another group heading to a place called Safety Harbor. But before Zara meets up with the group something happened to the rest of her group and she has to travel alone. Now having trust issues Zara is having a hard time staying with this new group. But maybe surviving together and having to watch each other's backs will help Zara learn to trust these new people.
