A young female enters a relatively dark mansion in the midst of a small town. She had heard rumors of a supposed "ghost" or "demon" that wreaks havoc on those that dare enter its domain. Upon arriving, however, she finds that the supposed spectre is actually a human. Tall, attractive... and quite dangerous. He had locked the door, and now she has to convince him not to kill her. At the same time, she has to uncover the mystery as to why he's like this... And... try and keep her thoughts about him being attractive a secret. (I own Kitsune, the AU, and the story- all other rights go to their respective owners.)

After going through a very harsh breakup, Christopher finds himself trying to repress all the sadness and anger that comes with heartbreak. In doing so, he tends to find himself in a very distracted stated of mind. Because of this, while walking outside his shop, he accidentally bumps into local baker Kitsune- a young fox hybrid who is as sweet as the baked goods she sells. After their first encounter, Christopher thinks that's just the end- only to reencounter her and her assistant Cinnamon. From there, the two of them become good friends. And though Christopher is too scared to admit it or act on it.. He wants for them to be more.

After childhood friends, Christopher and Kitsune, reunite after years of separation, the former can't help but feel a sense of animosity towards her. She left him alone- forcing him to suffer the many hardships of his life all by himself, with no one to talk to. As a messed up form of revenge, he starts subtly taking jabs at her for it. But of course, it escalates. It gets worse and worse before finally, he sees her again at the subway station. And then realizes that her emotional state wasn't at all as stable as he thought it was- as he almost, in a metaphorical sense, pushed her off the tracks. Something that, if he wasn't careful, she'd do to herself in a literal sense. (Content warnings include mentions of depression, attempted suicide, and maybe self-harm.
