After the Hail Mary launch, Eva Stratt found her authority to slowly fade and dim just like the Sol. Slowly, she realized that her mind started to fade as well, as the memories of the Task Force scrambled in her head, maing her see what she isn't supposed to. Nothing can be trusted anymore. Not even what she sees.

idk why but I saw a fanfic with this ship and now I'm obsessed. Eva Stratt had never been an emotional person. She was very straightforward and stoic. It's freezing at the launch site... Stratt's jacket is on the back of her chair... Grace wears it to run outside for 2 minutes...When he returns it, it's warm from him... She puts it on and doesn't say a word about it smelling like him.

Stratt hates everyone drinking coffee in her briefing...Grace brings two cups anyway and slides the second one to her without looking... She drinks it and doesn't kick him out...Everyone else in the room notices.

Grace knows any message he sends will take 12 minutes to reach Earth... He records a message that is just 20 seconds of silence and then "If you're hearing this, I remembered how you take your coffee."... He sends it anyway.

Grace sends a science update at 3 AM with no reason to CC her...Stratt replies 6 minutes later with just "Got it." ...She never replies that fast to anyone else...He stares at the timestamp for too long.

This is silly she told herself. It's fine, everything is fine. She covered her ears when another boom rattled the glass pane in her office. Her hair falling around her creating a curtain. "Stratt!" Grace called breathless as he gripped the frame to stop himself from running past her half open door. Eva straightened up immediately holding her breath, feeling caught. "Grace!" she exclaimed clearly. Or: there is fireworks for the launch of the Hail Mary and Eva finally breaks down to Grace that she feels terrible about everything

As Dr. Ryland Grace is laid to rest, Rocky approaches Eva Stratt with an ultimatum.
