When their family moved to Hawkins, Trish was of course mad. California was home, it was where she had gone to the beach with her mom and Billy, the only real good memory in her life. But, even that memory faded like the waves of the beach. Hawkins gave her a strange feeling. Like someone was always lurking, like it was haunted. She was not a religious person by any means, but something just wasn't quite right. Then, she met her step sisters friends. Weird thirteen year olds, who made Trish question their parents competency.
