"My name is Stefan Salvatore and four years ago on a lone dark summer night, I was murdered. I remember that night like it was just yesterday, I was walking home from middle school football practice, since my older brother Damon forgot to pick me up from the field. As I was walking home, I felt something move swiftly past me, but as I looked, nothing or no one was present. It was just me, myself and I walking down that old country road of Mystic Falls, West Virginia. I continued to walk, but when I begun to hear footsteps behind me, I became terrified and started running. I ran a little ways down the road, but tripped over a lose tree branch laying on the ground. Which caused me to twist my ankle and lie on the ground alone in horrendous pain. As I was laying there, alone, cold, and deeply afraid. I saw three blurry figures stand over top of me being filled with joy knowing that I had no where to run and no where to hide. I was helpless, and they seemed to feed on that. Two of them grabbed my arms and held me to the ground as I screamed in fear, the other which I could see more clearly leaned down and sunk his teeth deep into my neck. He drained almost every ounce of blood from my young childlike body, then he picked up my almost lifeless body, grabbed my head and broke my neck. That is all I remember from that night, but now.... Four years later, somehow I am back from the dead, fresh from the grave. Ready to live my life once again and find hope in a place I once called home. I come not as a child this time but as a seventeen year old man, ready to avenge my death and fight to protect the ones I love! The only way that this is even possible now, is because I am someone else.... I am something else, and that is what scares me the most."
