(Cover drawn by me at 3am) Sparkling Cookie has to take in Alchemist Cookie for the foreseeable future, after the latter's older brother went rogue after being manipulated by Dark Enchantress Cookie's followers. Alchemist Cookie is still in shock when they get to his house. Both of them still haven't fully processed what just happened. (Based on a CRK AU I've had sitting in a Google Doc for a while. This is just a oneshot but I may write more for this AU in the future if I get the motivation)

When Espresso comes into Sparkling's bar way past closing time, he can't help but be a little worried for the mage. - He was glad to see Espresso happier now, though he still wondered what had happened in the first place. "Espresso, are you okay..?" He didn't realize he spoke his thoughts out loud until it was too late. Espresso looked surprised, not having an immediate answer, as if trying to find the right words to say. That alone gave Sparkling his answer. Something was wrong. (cross-posted on ao3.)
