Sam laughed softly, the sound was still as beautiful as the first time Bucky had heard it. "We aren't very good at hating each other," Bucky mumbled, mostly to himself. "No," Sam kept his eyes down but smiled. "No, we aren't."

Set 6 months after endgame, Sam decided not to take up the mantle of captain America and when he gives away the shield nothing but bad comes out of it. A new threat is stepping out of the darkness and it may be up to two heroes to bring them down. When Sam and Bucky come together and team up it isn't just the new threat which is arising. Sam and Bucky never considered their feelings before but this time things change. How will Sam and Bucky deal with the new chapter in their friendship? Bucky delivered the armor and helped Sam. He's about to leave again, but sometimes all it takes is a few words, just giving in to the impulse, for everything to change.

Sam and Bucky are paired to go on missions together with a new team of agents. They quickly unlearn their hatred toward each other and find something else behind that rivalry. Not only has he passed his shield and the title of captain to Sam, but also his life long best friend Bucky. Sam and Bucky have always had a rocky relationship ever since SHIELD was compromised. Sam tries his best to cooperate with him, but Bucky always ends up shutting him out for unexplained reasons. Marking Bucky down as hopeless, Sam decides to go at it alone. Little does he know that that's not an option.
