Book one of the Chain saga Paris walks quickly on the slippery-ice on her way to her flat. The frost had started to kiss her toes and fingers and she longed for the warmth of her house. A man holding a book-bag in one hand and an umbrella in the other walks in her direction, coming from the street her flat was on. He walks dangerously fast and he slips, his books spreading out all over the ice-covered street. Paris rushes over to him and asks, "Are you alright sir?" "Yes, thank you.
