This fanfiction takes place after where the manga ends. Emma has started her life anew with her big family once more. She tries her best to rekindle her bonds with the people who once meant the world to her, and rediscover herself in the process. However, Ray seems to be the only one who has trouble being friends with her. As he tries to come to terms with the fact that his relationship with her may not be the same anymore, he also realizes that he has started to see Emma in a new light. He finds his newfound feelings for her to be hard to swallow, especially when his other best friend Norman has liked her since childhood, and Emma herself doesn't remember how close they once were in the past. How does Emma see Ray anyway with no memories to affect her perception of him?

This is a story where Ray and Emma are mermaids, living with all their family in an orphanage taken care of by Isabella. Norman, on the other hand, is an investigator of marine life, and he has now been given the task of investigating a mermaid. What would happen when Norman's crew captures Emma? Leaving her alone, missing her family, and leaving Ray alone, searching for a million ways to get her back. Maybe he'll have to take some risks to find her and get her back, but he didn't care, as long as he could see that shining smile of hers again

This is a High School AU and is Rayemma, so if you don't ship it I suggest you don't read. There will be some gay jokes between Ray and Norman, and there will be some tension between Norman and Emma but it's all fun and jokes. There will probably be a lot of F.R.I.E.N.D.S references here! There will definitely be smut, so if you don't like that either don't read. These characters and the show do not belong to me. In this AU they're all rich and stuff and live in an apartment complex (This idea was stolen by the person who wrote "Ready?" You should check it out it's a really good Rayemma fanfic.)
