Amy Rondue was a normal 17 year old "city" girl. She lived in New York with her parents that loved her, and nothing could go wrong in her life. Except a semi-truck and a Buick GMC.Her parents are in a car crash in New York City while out on their anniversary. Leaving Amy alone in the world with no other relatives except her grandparents that she only met once when she was 8. The other problem.....they live about 500 miles away from New York City, and it's in the "middle of nowhere" in Amy's eyes. But thats not the worst or best part! Jake Kashen is 17 and your average country boy, he loves the outdoors and everything in them. He lives in Huntington, West Virginia on a horse ranch. The 'minor' detail in his life is that he's an orphan. His parents died in a horse-back riding accident when he was 10 years old. Now he lives with his grandparents on his future ranch for when he turns 18. Jake is out on a horse-back ride when he meets Amy Rondue. Hiding from the world in an old grain silo, and on the way Amy fell and sprained her ankle. Jake isn't exactly excited living next to this city girl but he's expected to help her "fit in". That won't be the only unexpected event in their lives though!

When Mae Martinez and Jake Framer are sent to work at Hands and Hooves Ranch in Floydsville, Texas as a form of community service, their worlds get turned upside down. So do the lives of the ranchers' three kids, Charles, Matthew, and Bessie Johnson. The Johnson boys aren't happy about having to share their ranch with the two kids who were literally only there because they had committed a crime (or multiple in Mae's case). They were worried that the two would be a bad influence on their precious little sister. But as the kids start to get to know each other, Charles and Matthew realize that they Mae and Jake are both amazing people. But all three boys can't help but notice how secretive Mae is...

Owning a small ranch has its perks. For ranch owner, Joleen or Jo, as she likes to be called, bought a nice cheap spread and five hundred heifers and a bull. The elderly man that sold her the ranch also sold her the ten horses on it. Six mares three geldings and one stallion. It's ran by herself, and her foreman along with his wife who takes care of phone calls and the stocks. It's been going smoothly for a year now. It's gotten to such an operation that she needs more help than just the foreman and his wife. They were looking for work. Since they were sixteen they've been together on their own going from town to town and any job that will take teenager twin boys. Now that they are way past that and looking for a more permanent position on a ranch, they might be in luck when ranch boss Jo hires them.

A short story, that does contain some true & accurate descriptions of how working cattle can effect, even the most innocent of people's temperaments.

This is my book/story whatever you want to call it, DO NOT copy this! Most of it is based off of life experience. If you don't have anything nice to say then keep it to yourself! Jordan is one of Lilly's dads ranch hands and stays with them over the summer. Rachel, Lilly's sister swoons over Jordan , but Jordan has had his eyes on Lilly since she was fifteen. Lilly however has her eyes on Kilynn, another one of her dads ranch hands. Jordan does not like that one bit. Lets just say Jordan is a bit over protective over Lilly, after all, he was around a lot when they were younger, his dad was a good friend of Robert, Lilly's dad. There will be hardship, devastation, heart break, betrayal, but lots of romance.

Kindness doesn't exist. At least not for us Dutton's. One moment of kindness is a moment of weakness. Weakness gets you killed. OC x Rip Wheeler
