Amelia è una giovane donna dolce, introversa, con una vita semplice e monotona. La sua esistenza cambia radicalmente quando riceve un messaggio vocale da uno sconosciuto di nome Dorian. La sua voce è ipnotica, profonda, quasi iperreale. Inizia tutto per caso, con un messaggio inviato al numero sbagliato, ma da quel momento Amelia non riesce più a staccarsi da quella voce. Dorian non mostra mai il suo volto, non manda foto, non si fa vedere. Vive nell'ombra, ma diventa presto una presenza costante e penetrante nella mente di Amelia.
