And despite fighting hard to keep the feelings contained by distancing himself from Steve and focusing on their band and his relationship with their leader- Jean- He couldn't . "I can't teach my heart to love someone I didn't have feelings for". So, he was determined to show that he's earned a spot in Steve's life too.
