The series centers around Loona, the cynical and sarcastic Hellhound receptionist (voiced by Erica Lindbeck), who serves as the protagonist. After completing a mission, Loona rescues a 10-year-old boy named Wayne (voiced by Tom Kenny) from bullies who were tormenting him because he is an orphan. Loona chooses to adopt him as her own. She introduces Wayne to her coworkers at I.M.P. (Immediate Murder Professionals): her quirky boss and adoptive father, Blitzø (Steve Carell), the anxious Moxxie (Richard Steven Horvitz), and his energetic wife, Millie (Vivian Nixon). Additionally, Loona acquaints him with Blitzø's love interest, former-then-restoredly current prince Stolas of Ars Goetia (Bryce Pinkham), along with his sarcastic gothic daughter Octavia (Barrett Wilbert Weed), also called Via (who takes on an aunt-like role for Wayne), and her close friend Vortex (Jamie Foxx), referred to as Tex, along with his girlfriend, the Queen of Gluttony Bee-lzebub (Kesha), known as Bee (who also acts as an aunt figure).
Season 1: A new nemesis emerges-a French-accented techno-Goetia hybrid named Varkhaziel (Will Ferrell). Having escaped from prison, he seeks revenge on Loona, Stolas, and Bee. As a result, the group is forced to relocate to a safe house in Kensington, Brooklyn. They are under the protection of a covert supernatural agency called P.R.I.D.E. (Paranormal Reconnaissance, Infiltration, Defense, and Enforcement). Wayne made some new friends who know the demons' identities.
Music by Danny Elfman, John Powell, and Ian Livingstone & Rob Westwood.
