There are cities that feel like memories. Pittsburgh is one of them. After years spent building a career as an author in New York, Alexandra Robinavitch - Allie -returns to her hometown hoping to find inspiration again. What she doesn't expect to find is: - a father she no longer knows how to talk to, - friends who refuse to let her leave again, - and Sebastian Myers. The man she loved. The one who left. And, incidentally, the reason behind one very unfortunate set of bangs. Some stories never really end. They simply wait for someone brave enough to come back to them.

"Oh God", I say softly, dropping my pen on my notebook. "I remember where I know Dr Abbot from." Mel looks to me from my side, as I stare ahead at the front of the room. "Where?" she questions quietly. I place my face in my hands, laughing lightly at myself, "I've matched with him on 3 different dating apps, and we've talked on them all, and never met up." I mumble out. "What?" she asks, not understanding me. I sit up a little, looking at her and dipping my head to repeat what I said quietly. She looks at me with wide eyes, "This is a disaster." I say to her when I pull back away from her.

Dr. Michael Robinavitch asks, running up to the gurney. He was just notified of a trauma coming in from Dana, the charge nurse, and was ready for action along with two others. He slips his stethoscope into his ears and feels around the patient's chest. He takes a quick look at the patient. "Car crash victim, car versus truck, launched through the window. Driver's right behind us," the medic says. "Dana!" Robby yells. She points to Trauma 2 and they roll her in. They transfer her to the hospital bed and people frantically move around her. Just before Robby can join them, an EMT takes a hold of his arm and forces him to face her. "Robby," she says, motioning for him to follow her out of the chaos for a second. "There's something you should know about this patient." "What is it? I don't have much time. If you keep me here much longer there might not be a patient for me to save in there anymore." Studies show that, on average, Paramedics face assault every 46 hours and injury-causing attacks every 9 days, with injury rates four times higher than the national average. It is notewhile, of course, that female EMT's have a disproportionately greater risk of violence-related injuries. When Wendy Devlin elected to become a paramedic, she hadn't done so with the idea in mind to become a statistic. Unfortunately, it is also notewhile that life doesn't always go the way you expect. Or in which: she begins working alongside the same Doctor who saved her life, and in return, finds she might just save his in the long run. Frank Langdon x oc
